The Swing Winter Sweater

This oversized cream cotton fleece sweater features Jean-Honoré Fragonard's iconic 1767 painting "The Swing.” Considered one of the masterpieces of the Rococo era and Fragonard's best-known work, the painting depicts an elegantly dressed young woman on a swing being pushed by an older man, while a young admirer hides in the bushes below. According to dramatist Charles Collé's memoirs, a courtier first commissioned history painter Gabriel François Doyen for this work, but Doyen refused due to its frivolous nature and passed the commission to Fragonard.
